March 22, 2013 at about six in the evening I saw the first Towhee foraging beneath an Azalea in our back yard. Spring has officially come to Maripsoa Cove, and I am a happy camper.

There was another visitor in the yard at the same time. A young but grown possum had come to check things out. He ambled around a bit, then settled in under the bird feeder and began grazing on the spilled seed. He looked very comfy, and took his time selecting what he wanted from what was available. The birds paid him absoluely no mind as they finished their evening snacks and retired for the night. Mr. Possum was still enjoying his repast when it was no longer light enough to see him. A pleasant interlude, and well enjoyed.
